... ANTHEMS OF DOOM Live report : NORTHWINDS/THE BOTTLE DOOM LAZY BAND/CHILDREN OF DOOM...

05/25/2013, here's a date which was underlined on my schedule for some long months and now, I can willingly say that it'll remain engraved in my memories for a long time... This "Anthems of Doom" was taking place in Bressuire, 100 kms down Nantes (where I had  to take Steph from Barabbas- coming from Paris-  at the train station), a little town in the middle of nothing special (not to say "nowhere" or "in the asshole of oblivion" !)... no big town close-by, a doom gig with just national underground Doom bands, there's always "good" reasons that can be found, why not the Champions League final or the fact that it's Mother's day too on the day after ??? So, fuck yeah, just 75 people for such a killer line-up is totally abnormal and frustrating :(
Well, finally, when you're in it, finding great friends you meet with excitement once or twice a year, listening great bands with a good sound, sharing drinks and joints, having good fun... you forget everything :) Oh well, with all the bands playing at 150% and supporting their colleagues at 300% (not just by solidarity - believe me) the venue was finally reasonably packed and in any cases the general atmosphere very friendly and positive.

STONEBIRDS open with their infectious Stoner... Actually touring with their mates of Stangala, both bands will help one each other to fill their line-up, here first Thomas Coïc is on drums while he'll play with his usual band later. As you've maybe read it recently here, Stonebirds come from the "Kreiz Breizh" area (understand :  the center of Britanny) and this tour is celebrating the release of those already famous "Kreizh Breizh Sessions", their split album with Stangala !!! The 1st song is a bit halting , maybe cause we're just a little dozen to be already there in front of the scene but  people come in little by little and soon the power of the riffs prevails...
With a gnarly guitarist/singer delivering thick and crunchy riffs and a very skilled bassist (hard hitting his 6 strings) who occasionally is nicely shrieking on backing vocals, Stonebirds reveal themselves to be a very good discovery, accurate and incisive. The balance between warm and fuzzy with fluid and stellar moods sometimes remind me the welsh gods Sigiriya which is a serious reference in terms of thickness and catchiness !  I need to come back on them this summer for the blog...

Setlist :
Doomed
Dark Passenger
Green Gene
Game Over
Cosmos Rider
Red is the Sky

THE BOTTLE DOOM LAZY BAND are nearly at home here (Poitiers is at just about 45 minutes) and it's quickly noticeable as the audience is a lot more packed now with quite many guys knowing old songs like "The Dead can't Loose Again" or the anthemic "Night of the Living Dead" !
Ben is very unbridled, almost in trance, and as always too he likes to share his bottle of Jack Daniels with fans (including my fucking body, hell yeah!). I think his flow on the new songs has much improved, the english diction is more assured and sedate... New guitarist is pretty impressive, much more groovy and rock 'n roll than the old founding member had special affinities with melodies inspired from Grunge/Alternative 90's rock stuff ! TOS (guit) is particularly cheerful and also unpredictable (his 1st stage diving surprised quite many people !), it's good to see guys who are so enthusiast to play...
And damn, the set is awesome including a great part of new songs, full of infectious Trad' Doom of course but also a  raging and sick dementia which is communicative and pretty orgasmic at times !!! Those guys have a different approach from what you can usually see LIVE with a great part of DOOM bands : they're here to party, play loud and have fun with their fans... it's very friendly and definitely high voltaged doomy rock'n roll and I'm sure that nobody in the hall could have hoped more from their set which definitely launched the evening !!!

Setlist :
The Dead can't Loose Again
Space Crusader
Lost n' Drunk
Riding Bones
Night of the Living Dead
Smiling Tomb

STANGALA played in 3rd position, luckily for drummer Thomas who has had an hour of rest after his 1st prestation with Stonebirds... I had been quite disappointed by their set in Rennes last year when they opened for Ramesses, but this saturday - things were favorably different on many points.
First they didn't have to face technical issues, 2nd Steven (guit/voc) seemed a lot more at ease in his leader's role (in terms of communication and implication shown, things could still be a bit improved though...) and I think the post of bassist was also more significantly assumed even if surprisingly shared between two guys from Stonebirds (half of the gig for each) ! A reduced and too limited time for the set prevented the band to play a 2nd (new) song of the split album, so "Ar Re Yen" was the only new one but the performance was good and it looks like the band finds little by little its marks on stage for a very original and personnal sound which is not easy to reproduce accurately in live conditions !

Setlist :
Doom Rock Glazik
Sorcerezed
Ar re yen
Langoliers
LSD
Bigoudened an Diaoul
Al lidoù esoterik an dolmen hud

If after nearly 20 years and 4 albums ("Winter" being the last released in 2012) NORTHWINDS is maybe the oldest french Doom band in activity, they're also one of the most underrated and that's something you feel even more like a sad injustice after having seen them on stage...
As I said there was not that many people at this gig but I'm sure that we were just a little half to really know them before they came on stage; well, the other half has now been quickly conquered by the exceptionnal quality and originality of their music !
The set alternates between old, recent and unreleased songs which is awesome (1st album title track, demo track, a couple of songs of "Winter", the title track of "Eternal Winter" -new album to come out before the end of the year- and another unreleased song too which will appear in 2014 on a mysterious Tape... you'll read more about  this in an upcoming interview with the lads !!!); it shows too how the sound of the band has maturated over the years with a lot of work in composition and instrumentation (keyboards were present of course but from now on there's no flute anymore for live considerations... which is not lacking to say the truth), not forgetting an highly heartfelt approach and an immense respect for their fans.

The sound is good, crystal clear and perfect for the alternance of ominous doom and beautiful 70's progressive Rock moments like in the centerpart of the gig with the majestuous "Winter". Northwinds is one of those bands that totally transcend your senses and emotions, their set led me to the rare conclusion that for this 1st long awaited time I've seen them, they have fullfilled me even far beyond my expectations and hopefully this is a band to follow systematically wherever they could now play in France (which happens so fucking rarely)... you absolutely gotta check out and support this striking band !!! Now, I've just one regret : not to have managed to take a good picture of vocalist/drummer Sylvain !

Setlist :
Eternal Winter
Night of the Ritual
Great God Pan
Winter
The Firewitch
Land of the Dead

To play very late and after 4 bands is not an easy task for any band... CHILDREN OF DOOM managed to make it intense and captivating until the end but I can't help thinking that if they had played a couple of hours before, they would have reduced the venue in ashes !!!

Guitarist/Singer Etienne Testard is an epileptic human bomb, the kind of authentic and charismatic caracter who forces everybody's respect and a great part of admiration... If you aren't afraid of tattoes, this guy is in appearance nothing except impressive physically but he imposes something unique, sick and amazing at the same time ! He plays a lot on sarcasm and has a kind of skinned-alive sensibility which denotes in this usually non-communicative relation between bands and their fans on stage...
Beyond this, he's a fantastic compositor of Doom'n Roll and the band starts with the title song from the debut album "Doomed, be Doomed ör Fuck Off", there's also "Bottle Ben in the Streets" in the middle of the set but all the rest  is made of unreleased songs ! lucky assholes we are :) with "Rusty World" an old demo song, the band plays a bunch of great new songs (to appear on the new 2nd album)  "Hidden girls", "Hate of Flag", "Another Way of Life", "Necrotramp" "Exit the Spiral" and  the long delightful "... Al Hazred" which has been probably the doomiest song of the evening !!!
This give serious promises for a stunning sophomore album. The performance is huge and an encore would have been well deserved but it's now two o'clock in the morning and time to stop the loud volumes...

Little by little, fans leave the hall, we're lucky enough to be able to stay there with our mates and not to have to drive back home this late or even sleep in the car in the abnormal coldness of this fucked-up spring ! Next 4 hours will be good fun with a great part of all bands members (some nice human discoveries, interesting discussions, etc...) but I keep in mind that later today there's about 3 hours by car to come back at home for noon, we're celebrating my sister's 50th anniversary and I know it'll be hard to save appearances, hehehe ! So at about 6:00 I finally end with my sleeping-bag on stage, trying to sleep a couple of hours !!!
Thanx so much to all bands for providing so good heavy sounds, for their friendly and dedicated attitudes too and thanx to the organization for having the balls (of steeeeel !) to settle-up such a fantastic line-up -  keep on guys, we'll be there next time ! (you too dickheads, just think about some true american, swedish or russian doomsters who would have sold their mother for attending such a gig with french Doomed treasures !!!)

French DOOMed News SPECIAL with TBDLB, ZOMBIE KING, OYABUN, BARABBAS, SURTR

If you follow regularly significant blogs from around the world and eventually T.O.P., you've obviously read something about HUATA, CROWN, CULT OF OCCULT, VERDUN and STANGALA in the last six months, but our scene's actuality is fortunately not limited to these bands; as you'll see here, expect some more french doomed injections within the next months !!!
Through 3 simple questions, I've asked several bands their opinion about our scene, what happened to them since the beginning of this year and what do they plan for the rest of it...
This will be published in at least two parts ; so here we go for the 1st with Tos from THE BOTTLE DOOM LAZY BAND (Doom,Poitiers), Jérôme from ZOMBIE KING (Stoner, Charleville Mezières), Fabrice from OYABUN (Stoner, Bordeaux), Stéphane from BARABBAS (Doom, Paris) and Régis from SURTR (Doom, Metz)... Support them !!!

1) How's the french doom/stoner/sludge scene like to your opinion in 2012 ?

2) What have been the most significant events that happened to the band since the beginning of the year ?

3) Any concrete news or serious plans (gigs, recording, album release...) for the 2nd part of 2012 ?

1) Honestly, I don't know, I'm sorry but I don't have enough time to listen new stuffs and new bands ... So I just can talk about bands I've seen live. The best  french band I've  seen live this year was Barabbas. Killer riffs and frontman. And those guys are really really great guys. I hope we'll share the stage together soon. The same thing for Karcavul. I really enjoy their show and we have had good time with them (CHIFOUMi ! haha)
And i'm sure that the big next thing is Children of Doom ! They're better and better each time I see them. their new songs are future classics. Don't miss them or be doomed !

2) some really cool gigs and some great meetings. We played with Solstice (UK), Cauchemar (Can), Petrified (Ger), The Wounded Kings (UK) and as I said before Barabbas, Karcavul ... and of course we drank a lot of beers !!

3) For the moment, we want to finalize the arrangement of our new songs. And we'd like to record and release the new album before the end of the year. It's not really easy because of our jobs and  families. But I think and hope it will be done before 2013. So we're actually not looking for gigs. We'll just play to the Metal Magic Fest 5 in Denmark and the Hell'Owen Fest in Saintes (France)

1- I think it's fine. There's some great bands emerging, Los Disidentes Del Sucio Motel, Glowsun, Wheelfall, Huata... There's a serious scene in france, with serious arguments !

2- Certainly, all the positive comments we've received concerning our second album, "Son of a witch"! That's just incredible and unexpected. The album is now available on Ozium records for example, it's just crazy !

3- We already have new kick-ass songs, so we'd like to do something with that, maybe a split, we don't know yet. But we'll certainly record something in late 2012 or early 2013. Stay tuned!

http://zombieking.bandcamp.com/

1) It's a very prolific scene, obviously, with a vast majority of very good and sometimes even excellent bands. Quite paradoxal since almost nobody cares for those particular types of music in this country.

2) The most significant event that's happened to Oyabun since the begining of this year is undoubtly our opening for Jex Thoth, last month : they happen to have liked our show, and it means quite a lot to us.

3) On that night, our set included 8 of the 9 songs we'll record next summer for our new album, The Hiss, which should be released in 2013. We're very enthusiast about it as in fact it will be the first Oyabun album (the previous one gathered material written between 2006 and 2008, when the band had a different line up and was named Mother of Pearl). I know it's one big cliché, but I can assure you it's gonna be heavy as fuck !"

1) I"m no expert but judging from my little point of view, I would say "Flourishing and diversified". Last festival at Le Klub (Paris), you had 4 french bands, each one with its own flavor, from prog to funeral.

2) You probably remember the coolest one ; the Mondo Bizarro gig in Rennes with the Bottle Doom Lazy Band and the Wounded Kings. Great bands and... cool party after the show ! (yeah definitely, great moments)

3) Yes, it's time for Barabbas to record something new ! We're currently working on a batch of new songs (we already played "le couteau et l'âbime" in Rennes) and the idea is to release a "full" album but the process is veeeeeeery slow so I don't think it will be out before 2013. We're like an old whiskey : it takes lots of time to get the best of us : )

1) The French Doom scene is stronger than ever and has a lot of bands coming out slowly but certainly. I think the French Doom movement is developing itself with a pretty large choice of faces: each one in its own style. I believe we've never seen that before in France. We get bands like Children of Doom, The Bottle Doom Lazy Band or Barabbas for the doom side, bands like Hangman’s Chair or Blood for Navajos for the stoner style or Verdun and The Pledge of Cain in a more drone/sludgy vein. The doom scene exists in all its variant styles today and that's very impressive. We also saw French forefathers Northwinds return … I think doom fans are really helping and supporting the scene. Don’t forget that doom metal is true metal and I guess metalheads need to go back to their roots today.

2) Surtr supported The Wounded Kings a few weeks ago on one of their French gig. We performed entirely our upcoming new album for the first time and we got really good feedbacks from bands and audience. It was very encouraging for us. http://www.surtr.net/
But I would say that the most significant event was maybe outside the band.... When we organized the show of Mr Wino Weinrich for the first time ever in our area. It was during his European Tour with Conny Ochs. And it seems it was also the first time since almost 10 years he hadn’t played on a boat … awesome guys! We had a really great time. I look forward to see him with the Obsessed at Hellfest this month … and of course one more time with the mighty Saint Vitus during the same festival.

3) The real concrete stuff will come in September. Indeed, we will enter studio to record our new album, which is composed of seven new songs. We are at the moment working on pre-production and arrangements. It will be rather different of our previous stuff because compositions style evolved a lot since our line-up was completed. And as we know each other very good, it is getting very fast. I find the new material catchy and it is much more varied than World of Doom concept. I hope you will look forward to listen to it. We don’t get a release date for now, but it should be out early in 2013 on Altsphere Production again.

Next part will include CHILDREN OF DOOM, VALVE, BEAR BRAWLER, BULL TERRIER WHEELFALL  and one or two more , watch out for it later this month !!!

LIVE report BARABBAS / TBDLB / THE WOUNDED KINGS - Rennes 03/06/2012

This date was awaited by everyone there for some long months... Tuesday evening in Rennes, the venue is the legendary r'n'r bar "le Mondo Bizarro" where a few thousand underground bands from all over the planet played throughout the years... Don't know what to expect in terms of audience; people arrive generaly late but tonight even more than ever ;  about 50 entrances isn't that bad even if not enough for the accounts of Blood Rites Assoc, but the evening will reveal itself as highly memorable and that's the most essential for everyone !!!

BARABBAS starts at about 9:00 and is gonna quickly blow a few minds away with this very crushing and powerful metallic DOOM leaded by their charismatic singer Rodolphe... He often comes among the fans and lives the 45 minutes allowed very intensely, giving 150% of his physical possibilities (yet largely above the average when you look at the beast !), of course other members are more reserved,  extremely concentrated for what was their 1st gig outside the Parisian area but very efficient and tight in the whole interpretation of the debut release. Ronan from HUATA comes as a special guest and delivers a memorable vocal duo with Rodolphe on "Ressuscité"... An excellent surprise was to listen a new song "le couteau et l'âbime", too bad we couldn't hear the vocals in the first part but this is their most doomier and heady composition so far and gives many nice promises for the upcoming album !

THE BOTTLE DOOM LAZY BAND then arrives for another excellent performance of about 45 minutes. Starting with the amazing "Blood for the Bloodking" which puts you immediately into their so original and complete Trad' Doom, again leaded by the very impressive Ben on vocals... I was particularly curious and excited to see them live after quite a few years of regular listening and their performance went largely further my expectations, they can be so Slow and Heavy, then so Groovy and unrestrained  ! Two new songs are included in the set, which is not so surprising considering the 2nd album came out in 2008, but that promises here again another major release of French Doom within the next months :) If you're from Switzerland or Denmark, watch out for them at upcoming gigs with Solstice (sw) and at the Metal Magic Fest, this band is oustanding LIVE and must be seen at least once in a life !

Time for a break backstage where I don't really pay attention to time passing while having very funny and interesting moments speaking with Bottle Ben ! Shit, THE WOUNDED KINGS are already playing for a little while when I come downstairs again, hopefully I will see them again at Roadburn next month... But I get immediately crushed by their music which takes a deeper dimension on stage. Vocals are bit too much in back but Sharie imposes herself as a very captivating frontwoman and hypnotize easily fans who still need some attention to enjoy as deserved the crushingness of Steve and his buddies (especially the virtuosity of his solos and the tightness of drumming)... This was definitely too short, indeed with time being too late and even if the owner of the bar allow to go over the planed hour, the set is a bit reduced ! No "encore" but a great success and many smiles last a long long time, which at the end of a Doom gig is even more revealing than anywhere else ;)

Time to have some more drinks and cool discussions now, too bad the bar has to quickly close and TWK leave shortly after; but still a few minutes to speak alternatively to Steve, Jim and Sharie who are very friendly people, humble, accessible and passionated... you fucking ruled !
The french Doomed hordes (BARABBAS, TBDLB, myself, Ronan from Huata and his girlfriend, plus of course the Blood Rites team) finally gathered all their remaining forces at Maryline's basement, we all get more and more alcoholized and/or Stoned, laughs and various cries become more and more intense... I still wonder how deaf and/or cool are all her neighboors for not having called the police at about 4:00 am !!! Thanx to you all for all those memorable moments (musically and humanly) and wish to share some more again with a part of you next month at Roadburn !!!

THE BOTTLE DOOM LAZY BAND

Slow, heavy, majestic, daunting, foggy, crushing, heretic... The doom practised by T.B.D.L.B is so rich and original, that each of its listener could add many adjectives/superlatives for sure. This is definitely not your usual copy of Candlemass, Electric Wizard or Cathedral, but the natural leader of the french rising doom metal scene, who in tune with this music (slowly but with caracter) is just waiting to reveal its talent to all the world doomters . Just like musically, the guys also have a strong personnality, no consensual... Yesterday I interviewed ToS (guit) to get some fresh news, but shit I'm sorry to confirm that we'll have to wait about one year more for the 3rd album... Fortunaltely "blood for the bloodking" doesn't suffer from time passing, so we'll still survive until 2012 with this unholy masterpiece of true fuckin' DOOOOMMM !!!

* "The triumvirate of doom" (for the 2nd time a tour organised by three bands with dates in France and border countries) will be on the road again next week for 4 new dates, you must be pretty excited and impatient I suppose? Is this an opportunity to test new songs live? How did this collaboration was born ? Can you imagine it lasts much longer?
Hello Stephane, yes we're  downright impatient to hit the road with our great friends from Children of Doom and Calliophis. This tour is really a story of friendship between us all, and it is really fun to tour together. It happened in quick exchanges of emails and beers to put this in place, and we all hope there will be other editions. We already have talks about a short week also in 2012 in Germany and other neighboring countries, we'll see in due course. For the moment we're gonna enjoy the coming week. Talking about playing new songs, we'll have at least one included in the set. After, maybe we'll test 2  or 3 more new things, depending on the inspiration of the moment...

* Question  that you'll answer for the 343rd time but I ask it to you anyway, why so much delay between "blood for..." and the future new album, it's not the whole fault of the arrival of  babies in "The   Bottle family" ?!
No, indeed it's an explanation but not the only one. We have also changed our bassist after the release of "Blood ... ", our drummer went several times on tour with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a group of grind, our other guitarist has a schedule that changes often and it eats a lot of evenings, so that blew some rehearsal times. Then we've also had periods without much inspiration, or we stayed to drink beer rather than plugging in the instruments. Then with Bottle if you start going in circles on a component, it is not worth it, surely it will end in a bad or just average song; so it's better to have good time with friends, instead of killing our nerves while trying to find the riff after,  that we can not find ... where maybe we'll find it the most naturally possible the following week.

* "Night of the Living Dead" , your song on the split ep, shows a certain change in continuity, the contrasts in your music seem more pronounced, can we expect this tendency for the next album? Can you tell us about some titles please? When is the recording planed and an approximative release date ?
"Night ..." may be a good introduction to what will be the next album. At that time (3 years ago) we wanted a "Blood ..." to really sound like a massive block. I think we've done our job pretty well, so for the next, we wanted something with more varied tempos, the slow parts even more overwhelming and more groovy parts as you can hear on the split EP. Well I say that ... but we compose naturally, and that the overall spirit of the whole. We should record by the end of this year again at Echoes Studios with a release planned for April.

* For how many more albums with Emanes does your contract last? Does your collaboration has evolved over time and if there was something you could improve in it, what would it be?
It's always been only a moral contract, there is nothing signed, no specific commitment, so we could not expect anything better. We record, emanate put out the stuff, we file a certain percentage of revenue, and that's it. I do not want to sign something where you see numbers in all lines, with royalties, cost per sale, the whole industry pisses me off to the highest point. There's just a mutual trust between Emanes and us, and it works fine. We're also in contact with an american label for a re-release of "Blood ... " and the next album; but it is still too early for me to tell anything more.

* Your participation at the DDF in Holland was certainly quite memorable ?  The name of T.B.D.L.B. is known and respected in the doom scene, but the feedback in terms of concerts and festivals abroad are not really tangible, I suppose you can count on the next album to turn things on that side?
Yeah it was pretty cool. We had  good fun as usual, our set was quite good and there was super performances from Hooded Priest, Place of Skulls and Eternal Elysium. According to what is our reputation, I know nothing at all, and all this does not really interest me, even if having to read that we've got our place in the French scene, or that we can influence this or such a group, is fun. Everything remains as it was originally, a band of five friends who have fun with the music they play, with no intention other than to spend good time together. Thereafter if there are opportunities to us, we'll see how it happens, but we do not run after anything in particular.

* For the next album should we still expect an artwork with mammary subjects ?!
I've got absolutely no idea about that at the moment, we'll see, keeping continuity in visual themes could be fun, but the fact to radically change could be cool too. We'll see ...

* You said in an interview for Doommantia that you prefered to do  concerts and parties with cool people instead of people who are exclusively doom ... Does this mean that they are or at least a portion of them uninteresting, little open-minded, desperate or even despairing ?
Yeah ... our attitude is certainly too punk for much of the doom scene in general. You often see groups who take themselves seriously, who are well on their own with stage performances that stick in this picture, it bores me personally. I'm not saying these people are assholes of course, it's just we don't have fun in the same way.

* You're a pretty opened and fun-loving group, what do you think of some bands attitude on stage who banish any exchange with the public, do not any "encore" ...?
Bah this is what I said above. We played recently with Electric Wizard, which were housed separately, only the drummer spoke a bit to us, I found it rather disappointing. Then about their attitude on stage, not a look or a sign at the public, no word, no encore ... for people who have paid € 15/20 to see them, I find it very limited. But after this is not a matter of style. For example you take the doom / death metal, a style extremely cold, which I tend to get bored with, but when you see Ataraxie live by example, you understand that you do not need to draw the face to be super good live.

* You also wrote that you hate MDB, sad bands with sad lyrics ... Isn"t the word hate a little exaggerated, do not care would have been maybe more fair ? Instead, would you imagine Aaron S. write texts such as "sea, sex and sun"?
Again, I was talking about the live attitude. I travel to a concert for a good time, not to see the guys pull the mug. If they are not happy being on stage, then they can their place to people who really want and show envy to play and swing energy to the public. You see St. Vitus and  MDB live ... this is not comparable. Yet the themes of Vitus songs are not necessarily happy, either.

* You're a big football fan, from OM (Olympique de Marseille)  in particular, not too disappointed with the loss of the title? Should Lucho stay or should he be  dropped like other not enough productive big salaries like Gignac, or Heinze?
Big fan, this is exaggerated. I was a big fan when I was a teenager, at that time OM was at the summit of Europe and they gave pleasure to the people. Now, I watch some games when it's interesting, but if nothing happens, OM or not OM on the field, I zap. Obviously, with nostalgia, it makes me happy to know that OM wins, but I'm happy for Lille, they deserved to win the title. Regarding players' salaries, it's so exaggerated ... I prefer not to ask myself the question ... while I galley by the end of the month after spending 50 hours a week on my PC to make 2  or 3 craps ... short !

* You're also a big fan of Tarantino, I love everything he did, but for me his masterpiece is the ultimate risk and to stay forever "Jackie Brown", what is your favorite?
Wow, hard question with having to choose one film in all his work. The narration of "Reservoir Dogs" is magical, the action of "Pulp Fiction", the approach to the theme of the 2nd World War in "Inglorious Basterds"and the awesome character of Hans Landa... I hope that his ultimate masterpiece will be his next film! hehe

* Hangman's Chair will soon play at the Hellfest, with the future new album hopefully it will be your turn next year, right? will you be there in 15 days?
Frankly, I do not know if that's such a great opportunity to play under a tent at 10:30 am ... After, it's sure that for the reputation of a band, being on the bill of Hellfest  must be a plus. And  I won't do it this year, I've been there the last 5 years, so if I have to make a fest this year, I would rather make one in a new environment, a new atmosphere.

* Who is the doom band that impressed you the most on stage? and all categories confunded ?
Without any doubt Saint Vitus for doom. After that I will just mention legends, with frontman knowing and doing what they want when they want with their audience:  Motorhead, Metallica, Megadeth, Dark Tranquillity, Morbid Angel (well I'm waiting to hear the last album, because when I see the reactions ...) Kreator, Kiss, Alice Cooper ...

* Thanx a lot to you, you can end as you wish (merchandising, etc ...)
Thank you for the interest; for merchandising, it matters little you know, but you should just rather drink a beer with us when we pass on to you ! DOOM !
